| Post Vision unveils local internship programme |
|
Post Vision Technology has launched an internship programme in conjunction with its Project Portfolio Office (PPO) partner programme, in order to help build Project Portfolio Management (PPM) skills and capacity in South Africa.
According to Guy Jelley, Post Vision CEO, the programme aims at enabling partners to implement and support the PPO solution, a locally developed web-based, enterprise capable application.
“At this stage, Post Vision’s role has evolved to focusing more on the ongoing development and fine tuning of the PPO solution, so we need our local partners to be able to roll the solution out to clients and provide support throughout the project lifecycle and thereafter. Based on this, we have introduced a three month training period for new resources appointed by partners, where interns work with Post Vision in order to gain the necessary skills and experience.
“These interns effectively become part of Post Vision’s business for this time, from a support, reporting and development perspective, and have a thorough understanding of all of the required processes.”
Jelley maintains that the internship programme gives partners greater access to implementation projects, and thus more exposure to a wide range of clients, as well as more involvement in configurations, sales proposals and client presentations.
“At this stage, our first intern, Ingrid de Leeuw, has completed the training period and is currently working on solo PPO implementations. We strongly believe that through Post Vision working hand in hand with its partners to help skill up the industry, we can only take the local PPM sector from strength to strength,” he says.
According to de Leeuw, project manager at CoLAB Project Implementation, Post Vision provides standard operating procedures for virtually every repeatable process for the front and back office. “The intern is thus equipped with a consistent set of best practice standards and processes, to be applied to the initiating, planning, controlling, executing and closing of a PPO rollout project. This unquestionably promotes quality and leads to improved confidence, skills and performance.
“In addition, the intern acquires first hand experience of the core functions of PPO development, marketing, sales and support as well as the opportunity to be exposed to and interact with a diverse partner network and range of clients. This practical experience builds on the learning gained from the eight prescribed PPO training courses which cover all aspects of a PPO implementation. It is therefore the most effective way to gain the necessary skills to implement and support the PPO solution.”
The intern programme is available to all consulting partners. Interested parties should contact Post Vision Technology on (012) 348-2366. |
