First National Bank - Financial Accounting Services
The Financial Accounting Services department run a project office responsible for financial re-engineering projects for the bank. The project office has a dedicated project team with a range of projects sponsored by multiple business units within the organisation. PPO has proven extremely useful for real time reporting of project status and workflow for the project's tasks and issues.
National Disaster Management Centre (DPLG)
The National Disaster Management Centre is a directorate
of the Department of Provincial & Local Government. PPO is now being used by
the disaster management centres across all spheres of government as well as
numerous other government departments. The real-time reporting provided by PPO
is now being used in the Provincial Disaster Management Centre meetings as well
as national reporting to the Portfolio Committee. There are currently over 170
projects being managed on PPO with 34 already having been successfully delivered.
SABRIC (South African Banking Risk Intelligence Centre)
SABRIC was established as a result of a need identified by
the Banking Council of South Africa for an industry-wide intelligence capability
to work in collaboration with statutory departments to combat the increase in
crime. Today all employees use PPO to manage and report on the progress of their
projects. SABRIC’s entire strategy is executed using the application,
providing them with a single, automated application. In addition tracking and
history is available and early warnings are provided.
Development Bank of South Africa
The Siyenza Manje programme provides hands-on support to municipalities by
facilitating and fast-tracking infrastructure development and service delivery.
Importing priority skills is crucial if the skills shortages in municipalities
are to be met in the short to medium term. The Siyenza Manje team, comprising
experts in the fields of financial management, project management, technical
management, and town and regional planning, will close the execution gaps
by strengthening local governments’ institutional and implementation capacity,
thus enabling them to meet their responsibilities and operate more efficiently.

South African Post Office
The South African Post Office (SAPO) within numerous project
offices including the Information Technology (IT) Project Office to manage the
execution of IT projects and the Group Strategic Project Management Office to
manage the strategic projects and portfolio reporting. SAPO have implemented

PROFICA (Pty) Ltd. is a professional project management company which provides
stand-alone project, construction and development management services across
many industry sectors. These sectors include commercial, retail, industrial,
hotel & leisure, public and mixed-use projects. Focusing on customer service
and value creation, our key objective in all sectors is to provide our customers
with value-added outcomes and optimum return on their investment. Profica
has implemented PPOLive (PPO supplied on the Software as a Service platform)
and it's usage include's their clients (amoung them Group 5) and sub-contractors.
Nterprise Network Solutions
Nterprise Network Solutions helps its clients (including
large corporates and government departments) to maintain an adequate IT infrastructure:
adequate to deliver the level of availability - of IT services and applications
- which the business needs to deliver efficient service to its clients. Nterprise
Network Solutions (NNS), has implemented Post Vision Technology’s Project
Portfolio Office (PPO) solution internally and outsourced the running of its
clients’ project offices to Post Vision and its partner network. NNS’
project office and its projects are now entirely managed through this network.
SNA Civil and Structural Engineers
SNA is a local civil and structural engineer consultancy

Exponªnt is a privately held company focusing on providing
professional Information Technology Solutions and Consulting Services to our
customers worldwide. The company was founded in 1998 and has since grown to
in excess of 300 people and a turnover of R100 million. Exponªnt has implemented

Sizwe Africa IT Group
Sizwe IT Africa Group is an Information and Telecommunications
technologies, service and maintenance provider with offices throughout South
Africa. Sizwe use PPO to manage their large projects for clients such as the
Department of Communications, South African Police and the Department of Correctional
Services. In addition, an interface to their HEAT call logging application has
been developed to allow them to better manage and gain progress from their over
200 sub-contractors.
The Biovac Institute
Public Private Partnership (“PPP”) Agreement, which came into effect on the 1st April 2003, was concluded between the South African Government, through the Department of Health, and a Strategic Equity Partner, The Biovac Consortium.
The PPP between The Biovac Consortium - a consortium comprising Biovac Holdings, Heber Biotec, Bionet and an empowerment investment trust, Disability Employment Concerns Trust and the Department of Health, is now known as The Biovac Institute. Its aim is to develop and restructure the State Vaccine Assets to ensure the country has the required domestic capacity to respond to local and regional vaccination needs.
Project Consolidate (DPLG)
Project Consolidate is the Department of Provincial and Local
Government's programme to accelerate the implementation of the government’s
Program of Action (POA) and improving the institutional capacity of Local Government
to deliver basic services to communities. PPO is used throughout the country
to report on the progress of the implementation of the programme. They make
extensive use of PPO to manage the Presidential Imbizo visits and National KPA's.
African Data Corporation
ADC was established in 1992 with its business focus on Project Development, Consulting, Project Management and Management Services. ADC's goal is to grow the organisation and the associated Shareholder Business activities in a controlled manner by providing excellent services to all their Clients, thereby creating long term relationships with reputable companies and individuals. Trans-Africa Projects (TAP) is a joint venture company formed in July 1995 with Eskom and Fluor Daniel as equal shareholders.
It was specifically created to provide services as a consultant and as an EPC/EPCM Contractor to the high voltage electrical industry for transmission lines, substations and associated installations.
TAP combines the technical and engineering resources of Eskom, one of the largest electrical utilities in the world, with the globally competitive engineering, construction and project management expertise of Fluor Daniel.
Disaster Management Solutions
Disaster Management Solutions operate in the Disaster Risk
Management and Business Continuity Management sphere offering their clients
a wide range of products and services to capacitate and manage their disaster
risk and business continuity programmes. Their clients include Nedcare, Eskom,
DPLG (Department of Provincial and Local Government) and First Rand Bank. DMS
has a network of resources and associates throughout South Africa (with satellite
offices in each province) and was the first client to implement PPO on the Software

& operational items).

Sourcecom is one of South Africa's leading IT Solution Providers
who offer their clients a full IT solution through the skillful integration
of hardware, software and internetworking products. i2i Project Portfolio Management
(a PPO consulting partner) is busy with the implementation of PPO for Sourcecom.
Sourcecom are using PPO and the services of i2i to mature their project environment

The Department of Social Development's Information Technology

Pule Incorporated
Pule Incorporated is a fully fledged commercial law firm
with offices in both Johannesburg and Pretoria and a staff complement of twenty
people. The implementation of PPO at Pule is currently underway. Pule use the
application to manage all their cases. Extensive use is made of the issues,
notification engine and workflow components. Their clients include large organisations
such as the Road Accident Fund, Eskom, ABSA and Investec.

The Programme Office focuses on providing an end to end project
office service. The Programme Office is equipped to perform their services remotely
and to provide the executives with the relevant information to make informed

Ngema NouldNet
In 2004, the Toolmakers Association of South Africa (Tasa)
was formed and stepped in to provide funding for the initiative and design a
solution for the problems that had been highlighted. Tasa members decided to
define programmes, and mobilise, pilot and execute projects. The association
recognised what the initiative should be and from this, the National Tooling
Initiative Programme (NTIP) was born. The NTIP has been established as the enabling
arm of the initiative, and has set up strong governance structures to ensure
the effective tackling of the five driving programmes.
Totem Consulting
Totem Consulting is a small consulting company focused on
consulting assignments and software development. Both legs of the company use
the PPO application. The pricing model for PPO allowed Totem Consulting the
opportunity to implement the application for a small number of users. Furthermore
the notification engine provided consultants, who are normally stationed at
clients, with a mechanism to monitor actions and work loads off-site.
